Bremen

Blue skies in Bremen when we wake up, but to keep it this way, we have to hurry eastwards. Oli is positive to get his test flight this afternoon at the airfield, even though stormy weather is predicted for our eta. Today we have to register, download our GPS and – catch up with the latest gossip. Primoz called me last night, still in Frankfurt, asking if I really want to go to the German Open. He has my glider, so I could fly up to Bremen and drive with my parents. The weather forecast looks like we maybe get a task on Friday, but who knows, maybe other places have a micro climate like Greifenburg as well.

Tomorrow the German Open starts with the first task at the airfield “Altes Lager”, a former russian army airfield, close to Jüterbog (not Göteborg, as I called it). We can hopefully fly one or the other task between Aug. 21.-26. The first time that a German Open takes place in the flatlands with towing! And also the first since Tegelberg days that a German Open takes place in Germany...

OH- and Carol, we already miss you! Oli´s girlfriend was our perfect team assistent during the Europeans in Croatia, but unfortunately she had to go back home to Australia to work. She was heart and soul of every competition she helped with, especially the German Opens. (Im so selfish- whenever Carol looked after the trophies, I knew I would win something useful and pretty, not just another pot that gets dusty)
